On for three weeks at the end of Jan / early Feb, Quebec City’s Winter Carnival is on during the region’s coldest time of the year, so wear a couple of extra socks to ensure you’ll be warm enough to enjoy the fabulous ice sculptures and the carnival’s other activities.
Don’t forget to buy one of the trademark a hollow canes filled with Caribou, the local brew which consists of five to six different types of alcohol. That will help to keep you warm!

These strangely eroded mounds of soil and rock named ”Hoodoos” are located in the Badlands area near Drumheller, Alberta, only a few hours away from Calgary.
And Canada is certainly the last place I expected to see such an odd lunar landscape.

For those of you looking to spend some quality time with your significant other… don’t go to the ice hotel near Quebec City, Canada!
But for those of you looking for a uniquely Canadian experience (crowds cheering! beavers flapping their tails!), a chance to stay overnight in a pretty cool igloo, and a reason to just plain come back to visit Canada… the Ice Hotel is the place to go!
